Starting PointShell Service Station in Mulgrave

What to expect!
Go Well Go Shell, You have to fuel up for this journey!

Ending PointDurham Ox

The Durham Ox
Durham Ox used to be a Cobb & Co coach stop. In these modern times the only thing that remains is 'The Ox'

Ending PointOld Family Farm

Old Yando Farm
This farm was owned by my grandparents. My ancestors where the first european settlers in Yando.

Ending PointOld Windmill

Old Windmill seen from the Silver City HWY
On the Silver City HWY before Broken Hill you can see some awesome scenes.I saw this old windmill.

Ending PointGreat Sunsets In The Desert At Dusk

Sunset on the Silver City HWY
The Silver City HWY is just magical at dusk during summer.

Ending PointSilver City Highway

A lovely highway
The Silver City Highway connects Mildura to Broken Hill (The Silver City) and is sealed all the way. It is an easy drive, just watch out for wildlife at dawn and dusk.

Ending PointSpend The Night In Comfort In Broken Hill

Broken Hill is the home of BHP the great Australian mining company. This town is built on mining. If you go into any of the local bars you are sure to meet someone who works underground.

Ending PointPro Hart's Gallery

Pro Hart Gallery
Renowned Australian artist Pro Hart has his gallery in Broken Hill. It is something to behold. I'm not a huge art fan but I loved his gallery. The gallery has Pro's work as well as many other Australian artists.

Ending PointSilver Mine

Underground Silver Mine
There is an underground silver mine that you can tour just before Silverton

Ending PointPacksaddle Roadhouse

Packsaddle Roadhouse
The only real stop between Broken Hill and Tibooburra. Stop in for a meal and get some fuel.

Ending PointMilparinka Man

Milparinka Signpost
It looks like someone had some spare car parts and decided to make the trip more interesting for travellers to Tibooburra. I say good on you mate, keep on the good work. This photo was taken in the height of the drought.

Ending PointMilparinka Road Sign

Road Sign to Milparinka
There is not much out here so you are excited to see a road sign. So you take a photo of it!

Ending PointWatch Out For Sheep!

This sheep needed saving!
The roads out here are not fenced and the sheep roam free. This poor sheep feel down a ditch on the side of the road and needed some help from me to get out!

Ending PointWelcome To Tibooburra

This sign greets you at Tibooburra
Tibooburra is the most north western New South Wales town. It is 100KM from Cameron Corner and the perfect little town to spend some time in. The locals are friendly and hotel prices are very reasonable.

Ending PointTibooburra Hotel

The Tibooburra Hotel
There are two hotels in Tibboburra. The Tibboburra Hotel and the Family hotel. Tibboburra is a greeat place to base yourself from when you travel to the Cameron Corner store.

Ending PointWarri Warri Gate

Warri Warri Gate
You have to open and close the dog fence to get into Queensland. Welcome to the sunshine state.

Ending PointTaking Photos Of Road Signs Again

Where can I go from the Warri Gate?
The warri gate allows you to visit a lot of outback stations, gas fields, the Burke and Wills DIG tree and Thargomindah where I was headed via the Noccundra roadhouse.

Ending PointThe Roads To Noccundra

The road to Noccundra
The road to Noccundra Hotel is pretty rough. It is not sealed and can be very sandy in parts. It is easily driven in a two wheel drive with care. The roughest section is from Tibooburra to the Warri Gate. Make sure you have enough fuel for the journey and carry plenty of water it gets hot out here.

Ending PointThe Noccundra Hotel

Stop here for lunch! You have had a long and tiring drive from Tibooburra. Once you are at Noccundra you are back on the sealed road.

Ending PointThe Club Hotel

The Club Hotel in Cunnamulla
Cunnamulla is typical outback QLD town. It is the centre of activity. Locals are friendly and it gets hot and sunny.

Ending PointNsw - Qld Border

The border sign
Here is the border back into NSW. This is much better signed than Warri Gate. There is plenty of information at the border about the Mitchell way that follows explorer Major Mitchell.

Ending PointThe Geographic Centre Of Nsw

The Geographic Centre of NSW
A government survey in 1988 to celebrate the bicentenary of Australian concluded that the geographic centre of NSW lies just out of Tullamore near Condobolin in NSW.

Ending PointThe Imperial Hotel Condobolin

Gumbend Lake
Possibly Australia's friendliest hotel. Nearly every trip I have gone on, I have been to this pub. Every time I meet new people who are friendly and welcoming to their town. Condo is also pretty town proud and this was even before Shannon noel was runner up in Australian Idol. There is also free camping at Gumbend Lake just out of town. With free BBQs and hot showers. What a great deal.

Ending PointBack to fuel up again!

At the end of every trip the car needs to be refuelled. Back to shell again.
